Before Your Appointment

To help reduce bruising and swelling:

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
• Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, Vitamin E, and other blood-thinning supplements for 5–7 days if medically appropriate (never stop prescribed medications without your provider's approval).
• Stay well hydrated.
• Eat a light meal before your appointment.
• Arrive with clean skin and minimal makeup around the treatment area.
• If you've had cold sores in the past, let us know before your appointment. Preventive medication may be recommended.

After Your Appointment

For the best healing and results:

• Expect mild swelling, tenderness, and possible bruising for several days.
• Apply ice as directed to reduce swelling.
• Avoid excessive touching or massaging the treated area unless instructed.
• Stay upright for several hours after treatment.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and excessive heat for 24 hours.
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
• Stay hydrated.
• Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night if possible.

Lip filler typically settles over the next 2 weeks. Final results are best evaluated after swelling has completely resolved.
